3. The Search for Heaven -
Somewhere in outer space in an unknown time, a man named Noah
searches for Heaven through a worm hole and finds the unexpected.
In a world of high powered
microscopic computers, flying cars, jet packs, clones, and other
advanced technology beyond early man's wildest imagination, the
belief in a great Creator that once formed man from the dust of the
ground had become something along the lines of myth and superstition
to this new fast paced society…but not to everyone. A handful of
believers not only continued to hold onto their faith in this new
world, but had also planned on a daring adventure into space that
would take man farther than any other human being had ever been
before…to the outskirts of heaven itself.
The ship was christened the Ark, to coincide with the name of the
man who funded this astonishing trek into space, a Mr. Noah Adams
and his family, which included his wife Eve, their two sons and
their children. Also on board, were lifelong atheist and religious
skeptic, Caesar Thutmose, and the captain, Abe Lancaster.
Mr. Lancaster was there for the money, while Mr. Thutmose was there
as a witness for both the scientific community and the United World
Organization. After all, no one from the UWO wanted some religious
extremists coming back to the world with fabricated evidence of some
hyped up spiritual experience.
The ship's cost was covered by Noah's own vast fortune, accumulated
by the massive number of department stores across the globe that
bore his name. The world's media had been both outraged, and in a
love, hate relationship with Noah's story for a while now. They
loved to mock this man and his beliefs. It was like a train wreck
that they couldn't take their eyes off.
The Ark's launch went smoothly. The entire world watched from every
corner of the globe, through various media, and quickly forgot Noah
and his family a few weeks later. Six months into the journey,
Caesar Thutmose was getting very impatient and feeling more like a
prisoner onboard a floating penitentiary in space than the
scientific explorer he had fancied himself to be.
"How much longer before we find this wormhole of yours, Mr. Adams?"
